

For decades we have heard that the church in Africa is a mile wide and an inch deep. But is this still the case? Surely the Church in Africa has grown in it’s depth of knowledge and understanding of Christianity and the Bible.
At Celebrate Africa 2008 we will survey the Church in Africa and see how it has grown over the past half a century and examine some of the challenges that the Church will face in the next 50 years.
Prayer Breakfast 10:00am - 12:30pm
Janny van der Klis shares some of her experiences from her many years working in Africa while highlighting important current prayer needs.
Also updates on different missionaries and an opportunity to pray for the work in which they are involved.
Afternoon Teaching 2:00pm - 5:00pm
A range of missionaries involved in training and discipleship of leaders and missionaries in Africa share their opinions on Africa’s greatest need. Bible Education.
Paul Bailie begins with the history of the training of leaders and discipleship in Africa as well as setting the biblical basis.
Gail Ekanem follows by sharing her experience of the current state of theological education in Africa.
Janny van der Klis explains the process of training nationals to be missionaries and shares her experiences.
Jayne McCurdy shares with us about discipling the next generation of Africans, the challenges she faces and the needs for the future.
There will also be a special children's programme run all afternoon suitable for any primary school children.
Evening Celebration 6:30pm - 8:30pm Join us for the evening worship and testimony time when we will be focusing on Short Term Mission.
Naomi Jones will be sharing on current trends in short term mission and her experience of how it has changed over the years.
